TOP Family Friendly Activities

Traveling with children is always fun and exciting.  We understand that finding the right activities fit for the whole family can be a unique challenge.  Luckily we have curated our favorite Family-friendly activities below, sure to be fun for the whole family.

Whether you are just starting, have tried a couple times, or you are looking to take your skills to the next level, our team of coaches will get you on the best waves and provide the support and knowledge to progress your surfing experience.

If you want to feel like a real Nicaraguan vaquero (cowboy), then book one of our horseback riding activities.  You can either ride on the beach or in the jungle to a local finca (farm). Horseback riding is available for young children if they are accompanied by an adult.

If you are feeling adventurous, fly through the canopy or rappel down a waterfall inside the jungle near San Juan del Sur. This canopy zipline tour is a great way to experience a unique perspective of the natural landscape of Southern Nicaragua.

In addition to its world-class surf beaches, Hacienda Iguana is also home to one of the only golf courses in Nicaragua. This 9-hole course is challenging yet fun for all golfers of all skill levels. For $45 per person, you will receive access to the course, rental clubs, and golf carts. For one of the most affordable rounds of golf you will ever play, Hacienda Iguana Golf Course will definitely be a highlight of your vacation. 4-person Scramble tournaments are held every Wednesday at 2:30 pm for $25, including beers and food at the end. Contact Hacienda Iguana to schedule a tee time.  Children are welcome.

Looking for a relaxing way to end a long day in the surf or on the golf course? Head over to the Aguas Termales de Nahualapa near Popoyo. This natural hot spring has multiple pools, picnic tables, and public restrooms.  For just a couple of dollars, relax and soak your body in the mineral-rich warm water while reminiscing about another fun day in Nicaragua.
